Hi my name is Irene. That’s me in the picture. The handsome guy named James is my hubby and the cute little girls are my children Catherine and Kristen.
First of all, I am a public relations professional and I am working for a well know PR company in Washington. I have been in this profession for more than 5 years.
I can consider myself an expert in the PR area based on all the experiences that I have gained throughout my working career.
I love my job and I love what I am doing as a PR officer. Public relation is an exciting career and of course it comes with lots of challenges. The PR career requires a lot of hard work and immense dedication and sometimes even sacrifices of my time with family.
Even though my work is tough and challenging, I am all excited about it everyday. I am looking forward to starting my day with awesome task and meeting new people everyday. In fact, the rewards that come from my work are a lot of job satisfaction besides good monetary rewards. I believe the sacrifices that I have made are worth the rewards from my careers as a PR professional.
Aside from meeting new people and beating schedule everyday, one of the great things about public relations that I like is the day to day interviewing and appointments with different types of people. The people that I meet can be a company CEO or a company directory. I can say that people skill is one of the critical skills you need to possess when venturing into PR career.
Other than that, the public relation career is all about trends. You need to be aware of the current trends of the products that you represent. The products can be a digital gadget or part of a fashion. The challenges here lie in public awareness and promotion of the products you represent. You need to think of how you are going to tell the world about a newly launched fashion and how you will market it to the world.
I can see that there are a lot of interests from college graduate in public relations. People will often assume that being in the public relation automatically means fortune and fame. But it’s not always the case. You need to work hard at it and connect to a lot of people before you could actually make it.
In short, public relations careers are excellent choices for people who love networking and meeting new people. It all boils down to communication skill and how good you are at relating to people around you. I can see what I will be at 5 years down the road. In fact, I am planning to have my own public relations firm in the near future.
